OCSL is offering two scholarships to honor and aid college bound female soccer
players. We are now accepting applications through May 1, 2012. The amount of the
scholarships is $1500.00 and $750.00.
Criteria:
- Student must have a current B average or better and have graduated by August,
2012.
- Student must have played JV or Varsity soccer in High School for one season.
- Student must plan on attending a School of Higher Education.
- Student must submit a 250 word essay on how soccer has influenced her life
and why she deserves the scholarship, with the student's full name, address and
phone number on the top of page 1. Essays must be double-spaced.
- Student should list all community service groups they have volunteered in.
- Student must be a current resident of Orange County.
- Student must provide two letters of recommendation from either a coach or a
teacher.
- The essay, resume, transcript and copy of application to intended college must
be postmarked by May 1, 2012, 2012 to Scholarship Chair, Orange County
Soccer League, PO Box 390, Chester, NY 10918.
- Student must be available for a final interview with the Scholarship Committee, if
needed.
